Prolonging The Life of A Wash N’ Go

I’ve been styling my hair in wash n’ gos now for a few months. Recently, I’ve been experimenting on how to make my wash n’ go last for as many days as possible, and I finally think I’ve got it! Once a week I wash my hair with Trader Joes Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo and then I deep condition with Trader Joes Tea Tree Tingle Conditioner and olive oil. I put on a plastic cap and then a towel turban over it and leave it in overnight. In the morning I wash out the condish/oil and I put in my Kinky Curly Knot Today and lightly detangle in the shower. When I get out of the shower, I finger detangle and apply the Kinky Curly Curling Custard. When I’m done, I seal my hair with Aubrey Organics Aloe Vera Juice (which I keep in the fridge) and it’s nice and cold when I apply it to my hair to seal. When they say, “Don’t touch your hair while it’s drying” they really mean it. I try not to touch my hair at all until it’s time to put it in a pineapple for bed, which would be around 12-15 hours after I styled it. It is mostly dry by then except for the middle which doesn’t have the best access to air. The less I touch it, the better the wash n’ go is preserved. I was able to wear my most recent wash n’ go for 4 days, I could have worn it out for day 5 but I felt like it was looking a little dry and I wanted to protect my ends. Over the course of these 4 days I didn’t not reapply product and lightly spritzed water over my head for a little moisture every morning. I just took it down from the pineapple, shook my head like crazy, and fluffed.
